Kasyanov Vladimir Alexandrovich, doctor of engineering sciences, professor.

 

         Born in 1935 in the city of Kharkov (Ukraine). In 1959 graduated from the Nikolayev Shipbuilding Institute named after Adm. S.O. Makarov. In 1971, defended his doctorate dissertation.

         The fields of his scientific interests are: aerodynamics, statistical mechanics of gases and plasma, the theory of control, flight dynamics, data processing, object identification, organizational systems.

         He is the author and co-author of more than 250 scientific publications, including 18 monographs and textbooks. He supervised 28 candidates and 7 doctors of science.

         He was a member of the Scientific and Engineering Council of the USSR’s Ministry of Civil Aviation, also an expert advisor of the Ukrainian VAK – Higher Attestation Commission and a member of the specialized councils for supervision of doctoral dissertation defenses. For 22 years he managed the department of theoretical mechanics, he was also employed and conducted his scientific work as a professor in John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland and he is the Honored Professor of NAU – Ukraine National Aviation University.

         Also an active yacht captain.
